About me

As long as I can remember, I have been an artist. Perhaps not always in ways most people would consider traditional, but I have always been involved in the creative arts in one fashion or another.

Although I had been drawing from a very young age, I spent the years in high school and in college following the pack – I actually went to college for a Business Degree, which couldn’t have been farther from my creative vision. But a severe illness in college sidelined my plans for a Business degree, so I found myself back at home doing various odd jobs to make ends meet.

A fraternity brother of mine gave me an old computer that had Adobe Photoshop 3 loaded on it. One night when I couldn’t sleep, I opened Photoshop and had absolutely no idea what to do with it! So I opened up a jpeg of my favorite band, went to the “tools” and selected the ‘zoom blur’ filter and that was it. I was hooked.

I went to Barnes and Noble the next day and spent every last cent on every book I could get my hands on that would teach me what was to become my life’s passion. The jpeg opened in Adobe Photoshop 3 in 1996 changed my life, and I haven’t looked back since.

It was a long hard road learning to be a graphic artist. I had several entry level jobs that taught me the basics, including a job in customer service at a print shop. It was at this job that I worked with in-house designers that showed me how to build my very first website.

I finally landed a position at Polaroid. Three months into my new job, members of the marketing department “discovered” me, and I got my real first shot at proving myself. Shortly thereafter, I transferred to the marketing department and started working on the front-end design of the corporate website. I thought I had truly arrived!

Like everyone else, careers change and grow and for the next several years I spent time not only at Polaroid, but at marketing houses such as Strong Systems, Scream Design and BizAtomic, all of which gave me the ability to learn and further expand my web design skills.

The next evolution in my career came at The TJX Companies, working on their store websites such as Bob’s Stores, Marshalls, TJ-Maxx and HomeGoods, where I discovered my aptitude for development (aka coding).

All this experience put together makes me a very strong and well rounded web designer and developer. Knowing how to do both allows me a comprehensive approach when thinking about a new website. Not only do I have the aesthetic ability to put together a user-friendly, attractive site, but I understand what it takes to make it all work on the back-end.

After several years of working at a companies that allowed me to my skills and gain knowledge of the newest and latest technology available, it is now time for me to continue that growth by pursuing opportunities that allow me to utilize my skills both in design and development and push them to the limits and beyond.

I truly have a passion for what I do, and I constantly push myself to be the best I can be, for myself and my client’s.
